Included are 28 no-prep worksheets that include two sentences with words containing a similar affixes (i.e. DE-tour, DE-railed) in the context of a sentence. Students must determine the word's part of speech and use what they know about each word part to reasonably guess what that word could mean. There is also a list of related words at the bottom that students can use to further explore the meanings of the affix (i.e. defrost, departure, etc.).
Also included are a page for student-generated sentences and a prefix, suffix, root visual that can be paired with any text or activity!
This resource is a digital PDF that is intended for use with upper elementary, middle, or high school students who are working on understanding morphology and how prefixes, suffixes, and roots can aid in determining word meanings.
