Social media can be SO motivating - why not use that to your advantage? With this resource, students can complete four different activities: analyze SocialGram profiles and make inferences about potential conversation topics/hobbies, create captions and hashtags for posts, read about a person and choose which photos belong to that person’s profile, and complete their own SocialGram for carryover! This resource targets the following skills:
Making Inferences
Answering WH questions
Reasoning
Generating conversation questions
Perspective-Taking
Formulating sentences with subordinating conjunctions
Higher level language (analyzing famous quotes)
Also included are two blank pages - one profile and one post - so that students may create their own SocialGram. This will allow them generalize the skills they've practiced, ask each other conversation questions, and learn something new about one another.
This resource was created for mixed speech and language groups at the upper elementary, middle, or early high school level, but would also be a great activity for social skills groups!
