Based on the popular social media challenge, this fun WINTER-THEMED activity is perfect for getting to know your students and targeting conjunctions, too!
This resource includes 26 ‘Put a finger down if..’ winter-themed statement cards and sentence starters! To complete this activity, students should hold up 10 fingers. Then, choose any 10 cards at random – as you read each one, students should put a finger down if the statement applies to them. They can expand on answers and practice conjunctions (i.e. and, but, because…) using the ‘Respond’ sentence starters. The person with the most fingers down after 10 cards is the winner.
This resource was created for upper elementary through high school, and is great for introductory sessions, sparking conversations, and getting to know your students this holiday season!
